GIHS HONOURED WITH THE 6TH DUBAI AWARD FOR SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT(DAST) 2013 UNDER THE ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION CATEGORY

The Roads and Transport Authority(RTA) honoured Gulf Indian High School with the 6th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport(DAST) 2013, an initiative launched to encourage public and private sectors to help reduce traffic congestion and uphold environment conservation efforts. DAST was launched in 2008 to promote sustainability among companies and be part if the RTA vision.

Gulf Indian High School won the award under the Environment Conservation category for using bio-diesel for bus fleet emission reduction instead of fossil fuels, becoming the first school to apply this initiative to reduce harmful emissions.

The Managing Director, Mr. John M. Thomas accepted the award on behalf of the school from Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council, in a special ceremony at the Rashid Hall of the Dubai World Trade Centre.

GIHS students win the First Prize in the Creative Ad Making Competition held at IHS , Dubai on 21-09-2013

It was a proud moment for Gulf Indian High School on 21st September 2013 when its three Grade XII students - Maya, Nadira and Nishi secured the First Position in the Creative Ad Making Competition held at the Indian High School, Dubai. The winners were awarded with a digital photo frame, trophies and certificates by the organizers of the event.

GIHS was selected for an award for its great performance in providing high quality of Health care for its students by the School Clinic. The award was presented on 26-09-2013 by the Health Regulations Department of DHA.

GGulf Indian High School was selected for an award for its great performance in providing high quality of Health care for its students by the School Clinic. The award was presented on 26-09-2013 by the Health Regulations Department of Dubai Health Authority. Gulf Indian High School is among the three schools out of 155 private schools in Dubai to have won the award for 2013. The award carries a memento and a Certificate of Appreciation.

GIHS WINS ROAD TRANSPORT AUTHORITY(RTA) AWARD FOR SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT IN UAE

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, honoured Gulf Indian High School with the 4th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) 2011; which is one the initiatives rolled out by the Roads & Transport Authority(RTA) with the aim of motivating the public & private sectors to curb the traffic congestion and conserve the environment.

Gulf Indian High School was decorated as the winner of the first position under the School Transport category which was introduced in the 3rd edition for the Safety Formula = Provision of Secure & Sustainable School Transport.

The Managing Director, Mr. John M. Thomas received the honour on behalf of the school from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, in a special ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 14th February 2012.
