| Syllabus and Curriculum |

GIHS is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India and follows the CBSE curriculum and the recommended text books. The school prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination (Grade 10) following the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) format and Senior School Certificate Examination (Grade 12). |

GIHS has three divisions namely: |

Senior Secondary School students are offered Science and Commerce streams where they will follow the CBSE format. |

English is the medium of instruction with Arabic as a compulsory subject for all students from Grades 1 to 10. Second language options include Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, French, Bengali, and Tamil. Islamic Education is taught as part of the curriculum for Muslim students and Moral Science for Non-Muslim students. |

| School Terms and Vacation |
|
The school follows the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) format from Grades 1 – 10. This CCE format is divided into two parts. Part 1 consists of Scholastic areas. The academic performance of the learner will be reflected in the form of grades and percentile rank. Two terms have been suggested during a year, Term 1 from April to September and Term 2 from September to March. Each term will carry two formative and one summative assessment. The grading scale for scholastic domain is a nine point scale based on direct grading. Part 2 comprises of co-scholastic areas which include Life-Skills, Attitudes and Values. The grading scale for co-scholastic domain is a 5 point grading scale. |

KG and Prep will also follow a two term system and will be assessed continuously. Term 1 exams will take place in October and Term 2 exams will be in March. |

Students will have summer break during the month of July & August and winter break in December. The school observes all holidays notified by the Ministry Of Education (MoE) and Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). |
